My latest Project ... this wall!

I knew I wanted to use this wall to display a cute picture of my girls in some of my cute outfits, but I wasn't quite sure how I wanted to do it.
I looked at a few blogs and finally decided on doing a gallery wall. I was super excited to do this project!!!
Ashley took the cutest pictures of my girls and I wanted to display them just right!

First thing I did was head to the D.I.
When you need 10 frames that can get super expensive so the D.I. Was PERFECT!!!
I tried to look for frames that already had Mattes with them so I didn't have to worry about that added expense.

I had an idea in mind before I went, so I knew which sizes I was looking for.
Most of the Frames were around 2.00 some as low as .75!
Total spent $20.00 (that includes an umbrella too!)

After collecting all the frames I needed, I laid them all out to arrange them how I was going to arrange them on the wall. I did this to make sure I had everything in place before any holes were put in my newly painted walls!

once I decided on the lay out next came the fun part ...PAINT!!!
I wanted to keep it simple so everything was painted white (including the mattes)

(before picture of Frames)

While the paint was drying I cut out papers to tape to the wall to figure out the layout on the wall! I made the mistake of cutting the size if the glass not the size of the frame so I did end up doing this part twice!

Once the frames were dry...
I ordered my prints and had my cute hubby help me hang everything!
It took us a couple of hours to get everything just right but I love the end result!!!

The story of a room

This room all started with me purchasing a serger for my little dress business. Soon after I made this purchase, I realized that I did not have enough room on my current desk for the serger to fit. So began the hunt for a sewing desk!
I am cheap! Anyone who knows me, knows this. We started looking and I was shocked to find that even a cheap sewing table is over $100.00! This was not going to work for me. So the hunt on ksl began.
I found this table that I thought would work but the price was still a little steep for me $50.00. I decided I would wait a week or so and watch it. Sure enough with in a week the couple had dropped it to $40.00! So my cute husband got on the phone and offered them $30.00 and they accepted!!! I was so excited!!!! I had big plans!!!
Here it is ...(don't pay any attention to my messy play room)
Ugly Right?!?!
Nothing a little primer and paint can't fix!!!
Here it is after ...

So much prettier!!!!

Well a cute Desk like this deserves a cute chair right?!?!
So off to the D.I. I went.
and found this....
(Remember I have big plans)

So a little primer

and paint

and some cute fabric later
I created this cute thing...

Well one day while I was down working on dresses, I began to imagine what my room would be like if I could finish it. So I did what any girl would do ... I drew up some plans! ( I forgot to take a picture) Later that day Matt came home from work and I showed him my plans. He thought they were awesome and said "lets do it!" The next week work began!
Here are the "before any work started" pictures

(I look at these pictures now and can't believe I lived like this)

wash area
storage area
unfinished ceiling

Matt added lots of new can lighting

I was so excited the day the framer showed up!!!
I now have closets to hide my storage!

My new cute door! Love it!!!

The new washroom/closet
My cute hutch, my brother built for me
(the hutch is also part of my big plans)

I thought I was excited when the framer came ... that was nothing after the sheet rockers came!
My vision for this room was starting to take shape.

Washroom/closet

Matt had a great idea (very rare) but this time awesome idea! To take the empty space behind the furnace and do a decorative closet with an arch for fabric storage! Brilliant idea !!!
(Just don't tell him that!)

I wanted this room to be "girly"
Nothing says girly more than a fancy chandelier!
next came the flooring ...

I chose a dark laminate flooring and can I just tell you how much I LOVE the look!!!

My cute little helper!!!

different views of the room

Next all the trim work...
I love the detail and rich look that trim work can give a room.
Thanks to my Brother Tyler I got exactly what I wanted!!!

Washroom/closet

decorative closet

bead board, large baseboards and crown molding
LOVE IT !!!
Did I say how much I love it!

It took a few days to paint all the trim and closets!

Painting White trim

Looking Good!!!

Next my favorite part ... Color!
I decided early on that I wanted a bright fun color for my room.
I spend a lot of time down here and I wanted it to be a room I would never want to leave!
So I chose...

a few last pictures before color

"Gecko Green"

Matt painting the first wall!
I am not going to lie I was freaking out
It was really bright!
but I had a vision!

I drive Matt nuts when we do projects because I have to decorate as we go.
You know... make sure everything looks good!
So in the middle of painting I had to bring in my new chair to make sure it looked good!
Looks awesome right!?!?

Another view

and another

and the finished project...

I still have a few finishing touches to do but over all I LOVE it!
I want to get my girls picture in one of my outfits to put on the wall above the desk!
To remind me every day why I am doing what I do!!!

Most everything in this room as far a decorations are second hand.
I love spray paint it works miracles!!!

I decided not to put doors on the Washroom closet.
So I decorated the shelf to make it look more like part of the room

and that hutch my brother built ... look at it now!!!

Cute storage for all my cute fabric ... I haven't finished these shelves yet.

and that is the story of my cute craft room.
I love it so much!
It makes me so happy!
